The ACT Annual Conference returned as a live event on 10-11 May, to the ACC Liverpool, UK. With over 20 hours of content, 20 treasury labs, and 11 hours of networking, hundreds of senior treasurers and finance professionals came together to celebrate and embrace ‘The Year of the Treasury Tiger’.
In the year of the treasury tiger, we will focussed on:
TRUST: enhancing the trust and confidence within the treasury and wider finance community.
INNOVATION: innovative and exciting developments and trends in treasury processes and systems.
GROWTH: the sustainable growth of people and businesses.
EXCELLENCE: striving for treasury excellence whether in processes, systems or across wider teams.
RESILIENCE: the resilient nature of businesses.
Mandy Hickson was one of the first female pilots to serve in a front-line Tornado GR4 squadron, playing an active role in the conflict in Iraq. In conversation with Caroline Stockmann, Chief Executive, Association of Corporate Treasurers, she drew from over 20 years of service to provide insights on personal and strategic lessons learned, leadership, teamwork, and the communication required to define and realise specific goals in high-pressure situations.
At a time when relations between Russia and NATO are at a low, and there is devastation taking place during the conflict in Ukraine, General Sir Richard Shirreff, former NATO’s Deputy Supreme Commander Europe, was ideally placed to give his thoughts and perspectives on the ever-changing situation, along with sharing lessons he has learned in leadership over his extensive career. Ahead of his appearance, General Shirreff spoke to The Treasurer about how good leadership becomes even more important in the face of crisis and volatility.
Back by popular demand, the ACT Annual Conference will once again host a Gala Dinner in the stunning surroundings of Liverpool Cathedral. The perfect opportunity to network with other attendees in a relaxed and elegant setting, and forge quality relationships with peers whilst enjoying an evening of entertainment, fine dining, and good company.
NEW FOR 2022 was the silent theatre area in the exhibition area by the ACT hub. Sessions featured included our own Chief Executive Caroline Stockmann delivering leadership and wellbeing sessions, and insights from ex-ACT students giving their hints and tips into how to best navigate the ACT qualifications.
