Andrew McMichael FCT, Group Treasurer, Agility

Andrew is the Group Treasurer for Agility, a Middle East based, global company focusing on supply chain, infrastructure and innovation. With a turnover of around USD 4.5bn, operating in over 70 countries Agility has over 54,000 employees. After obtaining a degree in Chemistry and Business Administration in 1990 from Kingston University, he joined Unilever in the Treasury department and obtained his ACMA in 1994. He joined Ocean Group plc (later renamed Exel plc) in the treasury department in late 1994, and became Group Treasurer in 1998. He left Exel in 2004 and worked with a start-up company specialising in trade receivable financing, but has now returned to mainstream Treasury and having been based for 17 years in Kuwait, is now based in the UAE. Andrew obtained his AMCT in 1995 and was awarded FCT in 2021. He is a founder member of ACT Middle East.

Laura Ford, Senior Treasury Manager, Majid Al Futtaim Holding

Laura Ford is Senior Treasury Manager at Majid Al Futtaim, one of the largest developers and operators of shopping malls and hypermarkets in the MENA region. She has led several financial system implementations and cash management initiatives and is currently responsible for funding. Prior to joining MAF in 2008, Laura was based in the UK, in the European Treasury Centre of Cargill Plc, a multinational producer of food and agricultural products. Laura has 14 years of Corporate Treasury experience. She holds a Certificate in International Treasury Management from the ACT.

Daniel Tromans Vice President, Treasury, Riyadh Air

Daniel is a founding member of the management team, of Riyadh Air: senior leader of a multi-cultural team, responsible for corporate & structured finance, treasury operations, financial risk, insurance, global taxation, payments, real estate and asset management. He joined the KSA flag carrier in 2022 and has over 20 years of experience working with prominent international organizations. Daniel has been a long-time champion of sustainable finance and has led several transactions over the past decade. These include the first sustainability-linked loan (SLL) tied to environmental, social and governance (ESG) targets in global aviation (2021); the world’s first Transition Sukuk (2020); the first United Nations Sustainable Development Goals loan in global aviation (2019); project financing of recycling/ waste processing facilities in the aluminium and cement sectors; and carbon capture initiatives for large industrials within the UAE. He has also overseen the implementation of the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA). 
Before joining Riyadh Air, Daniel held senior finance and investment roles at Etihad Airways and in other capital-intensive sectors based in the GCC. Daniel was previously with Accenture's corporate strategy practice based in the City of London, serving multinational clients and institutional investors throughout Europe and the Americas. Daniel is a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds a Diploma in Treasury Management (AMCT) from the ACT. He earned his Master’s degree from the Manchester Business School and his Bachelor's degree in International Economics from the University of Manchester, UK. 

 

Roshun Tulkens FCT, Group Treasury Director, Averda

Roshun Tulkens was previously the Group Treasurer for Mantrac Group; an authorized Caterpillar dealer, selling across three continents with revenues close to $2bn. Roshun heads the Treasury, Trade Finance and Insurance departments, with a team of approx. 30 employees. Main responsibilities involve raising debt, cash/liquidity management, risk management, customer financing and Treasury operations. Mantrac Group recently won the ACT Treasury Management award for Small/Medium corporates. Originally from the UK, Roshun has lived in the UAE since 2014. Prior to Mantrac, Roshun was Head of Treasury at RB covering 60+ countries across LATAM, Africa, ME and APAC, responsibilities included all areas of international treasury and risk management. Prior to this, Roshun was based in the UK, working for Burberry, with front, middle and back-office responsibilities. Previous companies include Rexam where he supported the rollout of a TMS, for which they won the Large Cap Treasury Team of the Year award. Roshun is a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers, he became AMCT qualified in 2012 and obtained his MCT Diploma in February 2015.

David Chatsama FCT, DBA, Market and Liquidity Risk Manager, African Export Import Bank

David is a qualified treasury professional with great experience in treasury, risk and finance for more than 15 years in both corporate and financial institutions. He is a CIMA member and a Fellow member of the ACT (FCT). David holds an honours degree in accountancy and an MBA degree, both from the University of Zimbabwe and completed his doctorate of business administration (DBA) degree with Walden University (2022). He has played a pivotal role in the transformation of treasury within his organisation, placing treasury as a trusted advisor for the business. He has vast exposure of treasury in an international setting (treasury operations, treasury strategy, middle office, back office, and front office activities). He has also been attending the ACT annual conferences since 2016.

Mona Patel, Treasurer, Fertiglobe

Mona has a career spanning over 19 years in treasury where she has worked in various treasury roles across the UK, USA, Africa and the Middle East, she has led and driven the setup of treasury functions as well as centralizing key treasury operations and implementation of treasury software. Mona was appointed General Manager, Automotive Group Treasurer and Head of Financial Risk at Al-Futtaim Group in 2019, where she initiated the re-shaping of the de-centralized treasury. Most Recently has taken on the role of Treasurer for Fertiglobe PLC, (an Adnoc and OCI company) and has been involved in taking the company through a debut bond issuance. Mona is a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers UK and Middle East and a member of the Middle East Advisory panel.

James Adams FCT, Group Treasurer, Chalhoub Group

James is the Group Treasurer at Chalhoub Group; a leading partner and creator of luxury experiences in the Middle East with a portfolio of 8 owned brands and over 300 international brands. He is responsible for all aspects of Treasury and Digital Payments. Prior to joining Chalhoub in 2014, James was a Senior Manager in the Deloitte Treasury Advisory team based in London. He has worked with a variety of companies in the UK, Europe, Middle East, North America and Asia. His particular areas of interest are Treasury Systems, Risk Management and Treasury Strategy. James is Chair of the ACT Middle East Advisory Panel and a Chartered Management Accountant. He studied at Royal Holloway, University of London, where he completed a BSc in Economics and MSc in Financial and Industrial Economics.
