The ACT offers an accreditation process for universities and their finance programmes. ACT Accreditation status provides an opportunity for your university to enhance its profile and credentials by partnering with the leading global, and only Chartered professional body for treasury, and be promoted through the ACT’s main website.
It also provides students and graduates with improved access to ACT’s professional treasury and cash management qualifications. This is an exciting step towards helping more students and graduates gain professional qualifications, take advantage of exemptions or gain a dual qualification.
Why become an ACT-accredited university partner?
You will benefit from:
- discounts: 10% discount for students to access our online qualifications (Learning only) and all short training and eLearning courses (not cumulative with any other offer).
- membership: ten complimentary eAffiliate student memberships per calendar year, plus a reduced rate on all subsequent ones. The ACT also provides two complimentary eAffiliate memberships for two full-time university members of staff.
- events: two complimentary places per year at any ACT event/webinar (excluding the annual dinner/summer social; travelling expenses subject to conditions, available on request).
- guest speakers: access to two guest speakers per year to support students on programme-related topics (attending virtually)
- review and update meetings: available on request with the ACT Awarding Body team
- online resources: access to the ACT's online resources, expertise and our magazine, The Treasurer, online.
Your students can:
- achieve a globally recognised ACT Treasury or Cash Management qualification within 6-12 months, as exemptions are in place with your university
- develop the skill-set that businesses are looking for
- become a member of the global treasury and finance community
- offer businesses a broader understanding of financial and risk management
- develop new career pathway options.
How the scheme works
All universities need to comply with the following criteria:
- be an officially recognised higher education institute in their country of origin
- demonstrate how they will introduce or promote treasury careers to their students or graduate body
- have the resources to dedicate to programme development, delivery and marketing to meet the ACT’s quality criteria
- meet the accreditation criteria on match of curriculum content and assessment standards to the appropriate ACT qualifications.

"
The ACT university accreditation scheme enabled us to better align our curriculum with the industry standards and make our programme even more practically oriented. Our students value the opportunity to get a professional qualification together with their masters degree, which gives them a head start on a successful career in treasury management. We have also experienced increased interest in our graduates from employers recognising the value of the ACT certifications."
Dr. Kinga Niemczak, Head of Department Finance & Applied Economics, Fachhochschule Wiener Neustadt
"Our partnership with ACT has brought about new ideas and how we think about career opportunities for our students. ACT has provided our students with an incredible platform for our students to engage and network internationally. As an academic, I value the current information that is disseminated and recognise that they are highly professional and have objectives of enhancing learning experiences for all operating in the sector."
Dr. Anthony Stevenson, Academic Lead Accounting Finance and Economics, Derby University
