No, this month’s blog is not a commodity travel guide. It’s all about change.
For the last nine years the ACT’s offices were at 51 Moorgate, London. We have fond memories and a few quirky anecdotes. Our number “51” featured in the London 2012 Olympics one minute countdown. The offices were also frequently televised during the financial crash- they were immediately above a Northern Rock branch- and this has been a lasting reminder that the line between success and failure in business is more often about competence than luck. As growth returns though, the challenge for most employers is increasingly finding and keeping the best talent.
Now the ACT has a breathtaking (if you take the stairs), but much smaller, new home on the eighth floor of 68 King William Street, London. It looks and feels like it is the gateway to the city, standing astride the northern end of London Bridge. This is so fitting; we provide world class treasury training and qualifications to all those looking to get the best out of the financial markets for their business.
Treasury is the gateway to the financial world. We’ll help you navigate your way as you grow international trade to the benefit of all. Watch this space closely in the coming months.
So we’ve moved from 51 (the atomic number or Antimony) to 68 (Erbium) keeping our roots with the real economy. Our new auspicious number 68, combines the good luck of “6” with the hopes of great success “8”.
If you are a numerist you’ll also already know that 68 is the largest known number to be the sum of two primes. Naturally an unlucky “sub-prime” address was never a consideration for the ACT.
Get ready for change. Structural change is taking place right across the financial markets. Stay informed with the ACT and back a career - yours.
