The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has commenced a review of field specifications used worldwide, and in EU for EMIR. The first two papers cover the UTI and a selection of fields. We have responded generally that: regulators need to remain aware of the cost of amending systems; amendments should follow the majority accepted formats; it would help if the field specifications were more definitive to avoid multiple formats being in use.
