We have dedicated the month of July to professional development to encourage you to look at your learning and think about what skills you may like to develop or what topics you would like to delve in to or research. The aim is to provide you with articles, blogs, webinars, podcasts and more to enable you to improve your understanding and build your skill set and knowledge base to help further your treasury career.
It can be difficult to find the time to develop ourselves, we are so busy with our day-to-day tasks that we don’t feel we have time for our own development. The idea of Professional Development month is simply to provide one thing for you to read or listen to a day; a short five minutes out of your day to review an area or to read up about a topic. And we encourage you to log that learning in your CPD record.
Some of the content is ‘fresh off the press’ having just come from our Annual Conference last week, while others are ‘throwback’ articles which will look at what we were saying or thinking a few years ago (for example, re-read the article in The Treasurer about the first winner of our Deals of the Year Green Finance award – surprisingly only launched 4 years ago!).
So, what’s the plan?
In week 1 we will be looking at all things ESG, week 2 will concentrate of business and behavioural skills, week 3 will focus on LIBOR and week 4 will look at cash management/working capital.
We will be sending you a weekly email summarising the resources available on that topic, and daily Linked In posts and tweets to highlighting the content for the day. You can test your knowledge in our weekly quiz, sent out every Friday, and all entrants will be entered in to a prize draw to win a £50 UNICEF gift card which you can use at their online store to purchase a variety of ethically sourced items. Look out for the first email on Monday 5 July. Happy learning!
