I am pleased to have taken up my new post as Chief Executive of the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) at the start of this month – and it is proving to be the pleasure I expected. My first week included initial meetings with the executive leadership team and with the wider team of ACT colleagues, as well as good discussions with the presidential team officers. I have been encouraged by the commitment and support for members from all these groups, and good alignment about the priorities for your membership body. I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome I have received so far.
This week I will have the opportunity to meet a wider group of ACT members both at a FTSE20 Diversity event and later in the week at the London members’ reception. I’m particularly interested to be meeting with some of the ACT’s Past Presidents to hear from their experience and wisdom.
My focus over the coming months is going to be on building financial sustainability for the ACT, ensuring we offer modern qualifications for current & future treasurers and a healthy membership base, and making sure the voice of the treasurer is clearly heard on key issues. Time to get to work, I think.
