I am delighted to be stepping into the role of Interim Chief Executive. I have worked for the ACT for the past six years and some of you may know me from my role as Director of Awarding Body at the ACT. Ahead of our new Chief Executive joining the organisation, I will be working with our members, Council, the wider treasury community, and my colleagues, to ensure that the ACT continues to deliver the high level of service and support that we know you value.
Annette Spencer will be joining the ACT as Chief Executive later this year. Annette has been the Director of Policy, Events & Marketing at the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) since 2018, where she led the organisation’s policy & public affairs work and all aspects of communications and marketing to members, stakeholders and the general public. Prior to joining the IFoA, Annette worked in senior in-house roles at FTSE100 and multinational companies including RSA Insurance, Zurich, HSBC and Old Mutual. Between 2013 and 2015 she was the Director of Communications at the Investment Association. Annette is a Fellow and Chartered Practitioner of the CIPR, and her qualifications include an MBA and a degree in Classics.
Both Annette and I will be attending the ACT Annual Conference on 16-17 May, so if you are coming to the event then please do come and say hello.
I look forward to working with you over the coming months.
I am pleased to be joining the Association of Corporate Treasurers and will be meeting more of the ACT’s members and executive over the coming weeks. The ACT is a respected and thriving professional body, and I am looking forward to helping shape how we evolve qualifications and career support for our members and ensure their positive contribution to the real economy and society is understood and valued.
Annette Spencer
Having worked with the ACT for the past six years, and knowing it well, I will be focusing on supporting the organisation in delivering the great service that I know our members value so highly. We are currently preparing for the Annual Conference, and there are many more exciting events coming up this year. We are also expanding our qualifications through additional courses on the FutureLearn platform, and our Policy & Technical and Membership teams will continue to provide you with the resources that are so critical for treasurers.
