In 2019 we will celebrate our 40th Anniversary!
We are very proud of all that we have achieved over the years, none of which would have been possible without the significant contribution of our members, other treasury professionals and the wider financial community.
To celebrate and to recognise this support, Council has invited a small and select group of individuals to become either Fellows (for the most senior and experienced practicing treasurers) or Honorary Fellows (for those no longer practicing treasury or non-treasurers) with effect from 1 January 2019.
Of the 15 admitted to Fellowship in this way, 12 are current members with the remaining 3 active contributors to the ACT and the treasury community more widely. All of them are senior and experienced treasurers, leading the treasury function at large organisations. They have a proven record of support and involvement with the ACT and are committed to acting as advocates within their organisations and the wider treasury network, promoting the highest professional standards and encouraging those entering or already working in the profession to become qualified members of the ACT.
Council is permitted under the ACT’s Bye-laws to admit to Fellowship anyone who possesses appropriate levels of competence, although for the last 20 years this has been almost entirely restricted to those who have passed the Advanced Diploma. These invitations represent an exception to our usual requirements, specifically to mark the special occasion of our 40th Anniversary.
Honorary Fellowship is granted only rarely and is reserved for those who through their efforts have contributed to the development of the ACT and the wider profession. For 2019, Council has the pleasure of recognising the outstanding contribution of 14 individuals who have supported the ACT over a number of years on the ACT Advisory Panel, Policy & Technical Advisory Panel or advocating for the ACT in the wider financial community. Their appointment on 1 January will take the total number of Honorary Fellows to 40 – a happy coincidence but very fitting for our Anniversary year!
