Every year the ACT Middle East Annual Summit continues to surprise and inspire me through the people I meet, the case studies and success stories I hear and the new insights I take away with me. It is always an honour to be chairing what is undoubtedly the leading treasury event in the region.
We’ve got a packed programme for you as always, with the support of companies including Almoayyed International Group, Aramex, Archimedia, Chalhoub Group, Du, Dubai Petroleum, elseco, EGA, Etihad Airways, Government of Sharjah, Gulf Energy, Landmark Group, Oman Trading International, Webcor Group and YBA Kanoo, to name just a few. I am particularly interested in hearing what our opening keynote address from the Ministry of Economy has to say about the prospects for the region and, of course, our Question Time panel, which never fails to provide lively discussion and debate.
This year the ACT Learning team will be present in full force, with my colleague Vanessa Harwood-Whitcher, ACT Director of Professional Standards and Learning running two workshops on leadership and women in finance, as well as being on hand to answer your career and team development questions at the ACT stand. We know that the opportunity to network and exchange contacts and ideas is a big draw and our new conference mobile app for delegates provides even more ways to connect with your peers. It’s also a handy way to have all the event information accessible via your mobile device as well as enabling you to take part in live polls. What else? My favourite part of course, which is catching up with old friends and making new acquaintances. Those of you who have read my blogs in the past will know I share more than a passing foodie interest and I’m sure our friends at the Conrad Dubai won’t disappoint. The drinks reception on day one is also the perfect backdrop to relax a little and continue conversations after a busy day of sessions.
I’m delighted that we will be taking the opportunity once again to congratulate our students in the region on their many successes in the ACT’s qualifications with an informal awards ceremony. Hope you can join us!
