I'm delighted to announce the launch of the new ACT career hub
There is a wealth of information on this new site, from Ashridge Business school course content to industry guides to CV builders - and all exclusive to members and students! Do log in to your account (all members and students have an account, if you have forgotten your password go to www.treasurers.org/user) and have a look!
One of the key objectives I wanted to achieve when putting together the site was to ensure members and students had support in the Business Skills, Behavioural Skills and Character & Commitment areas of the Competency Framework. One of the key benefits of the new ACT career hub is that you can look at the resources on the hub by competency framework area. If you use the purple dashboard at the top of the page, go to My Learning, you will see that the first drop down is ‘The Competency Framework resources’. You can then simply click on the area in the circle you want to look at and the resources will be displayed by sub-category.
But the hub provides more than this. It really is a huge resource database. Sticking with the top bar navigation, if you look under My Tools you will see resources to help you develop your CV, use the interview simulator to browse practice interview questions or even do a mock interview, learn how to get the best out of assessment centres and perfect your ‘elevator pitch’ (or introductory summary).
Use the My career section to understand your personality traits and how to interact with others to minimise conflict, look at motivation and resilience, use the career planner tools to take control of your career and hear case studies from others in finance and beyond.
The My learning areas host the vast majority of the eLearning resources – from short 5-minute read articles to 45 minute learning sessions. These look at the areas of career management, career options, career skills, challenges and change, new role, internal job hunting, develop your business skills and business education.
And finally, the My jobs section lists treasury jobs, along with a company directory of top employers and business networking section.
You can also use the squares on the homepage to search through the site. We have included an easy link to the CPD area so that you can record anything you look at on this website in your CPD record.
I really hope you will find this new resource useful and informative. Please do use this member resource and email me if you have any comments.
Enjoy!
