The country’s top employers have received 13% more graduate job applications.
This is according to High Fliers Research in their ‘Graduate Market in 2016’ report compared with the equivalent period in the previous year’s recruitment round.
More graduates applying for jobs means that as a graduate you need to find a way to stand out. On the other side, companies want to recruit graduates who have a strong skill-set and a desire to work and progress within their chosen industry. An affiliation with a professional body is a great way of doing this.
The ACT has worked with universities in a number of guises since we first launched our qualifications. The Accreditation scheme builds on these relationships and formalises the way we work with these Accredited Universities.
In 2016 we launched the Accredited University scheme to encourage graduates to continue their treasury studies after they have finished their university programme. The scheme streamlines the application process for graduates by matching the University’s content with the ACT’s content thereby pre-approving exemptions.
This provides an exciting opportunity for graduates to gain access to the ACT’s qualifications – and for the ACT to support students.

Work placements or entry level positions
Existing ACT members can help aspiring finance professionals from Accredited Universities by offering short-term work placements or entry level roles to university students. The Universities are committed to developing and strengthening links with businesses and members’ can gain additional support from creative and innovative students who possess analytical and research skills, keen to apply their skills to a real-life work setting and understand today’s labour market.
